I really like that skirt. I received it yesterday and I am so pleased with it! I like your outfits. I was planning to try it with lavender, you've convinced me.
This look is so polished I LOVE it ... sometimes I'm not sure how to incorporate fun pieces like the belt but it really adds a little flair while still looking really really classy. Well done!
The skirt looks great on you! The Geo Francis caught my eye as well- I was just trying to decide if I should return mine because I still have not worn it but you are making me really want to keep it now...!?!? I would love to see more outfit ideas w/ it (hint, hint!)! ;)
Thanks for taking the time to share these IRL pictures w/ all of us- I really enjoy them! :D
First time posting to your blog. I love the outfits that you put together! Especially this one! Which frances is that? Is it the geo or the herringbone? I have been trying to wait to buy that skirt until I get my rewards but you're making that very difficult!
Shana, I am wearing Francis Herringbone on this photo.
Rachel, Yes, I am wearing lavender Jackie with shirred ruffles tank in pale iliac (last photo).
MMM, I purchased Francis in Geo and in Herringbone – returned both of them yesterday. I just cannot convince myself to love this top.
Cleo and Pamela, I do like this skirt more than Oona or Blushed tweed pencil skirt. The fabric is slightly better on this one and it feels less bulky than Oona. I just don’t really love this piece the way I LOVE some other JC pencil skirts. Yes, I will return the sapphire tweed pencil skirt.
Hi, new to your blog. Intrigued by the skirt - personally going through a tweed phase. Looks great with the serengeti belt and blouse. I like how you've mixed the prints / textures like that. Looks really good!
OMG, I adore it on you! I know what you mean, you do need to love something to keep it, but I think it looks incredibly good on you. I tried Oona in store and thought it was too bulky, this was a nicer fabric. I haven't received blushed tweed yet, I understand it's somewhere between the sapphire and oona in terms of weight. Is that right?
Desert Flower, I think the Blushed tweed skirt feels as bulky as Oona tweed skirt. I returned them both. I also got rosebud wool skirt –this skirt is SO much better and has more flattering fit. The fabric is fabulous and I once you put it on – it feel just like “perfect pencil skirt”.
Thanks for the feedback. I saw Oona in the store, and I knew that was bulkier than I want. I wasn't able to see the blushed tweed in person but if it's as bulky and thick as Oona, I know I don't want it. The colors are pretty, that's what drew me too it. I'm worried that the rosebud skirt is too pink, I'm definitely not a pink person. It sounds perfect otherwise!
You really know how to rock a pencil skirt! I love the textures you put together in this outfit, with the nubby tweed, silky top, and patent accessories! LOVE!
I agree with you that the rosebud skirt is "perfect fit." It's my favorite skirt this year.
I find that skirts with stiffer fabrics are more flattering on me. While i like the sapphire tweed skirt, and even the blushed tweed skirt, the rosebud and perfect pencil give me a more slender silhouette.
The Oona was a complete bust for me. The fabric was so soft, but maximized too many curves and made me appear heavy.
Cleo26, You’ve said it just right - stiffer fabric gives better silhouette. And rosebud skirt IS the skirt of the year, following by “perfect fit” pencil skirt. I am curvy IRL and Oona/Sapphire skirts really “accentuate” my curves.
i absolutely adore the pencil skirt + ruffle-top combination ... sad to hear that you didn't like the frances cami, i have been watching it online and waiting for it to go on sale! crossing my fingers...

Very nice. I like how you put the two different looks together, too. What do you think about this skirt?
The skirt looks great on you. I would also like to know what you think of it. Do you think it adds bulk? You look so slim to begin with!! Thanks.

I love the outfit, especially with the cardigan-it is so ladylike and elegant. Is the cardigan lavendar?
The entire outfit looks beautiful! I love the top with the skirt, the shoes, belt, everything.
GORGEOUS skirt-------the entire outfit, is beautiful. Love the outdoor background you have chosen for your pic's, as well:)
